For self-builders

You bring the plot and the idea. We engineer, manufacture and erect the structure.

Most self-builders come to us with a site, a sense of the house they want, and sometimes drawings and a planning consent. What they want from the structure is the same: a house that’s warm and quiet and costs very little to run, built from a fabric that’s strong, low-maintenance and made to last, and that goes up quickly and accurately.

We engineer your self-build home to your drawings, manufacture the structure at our factory in Butterleigh, Devon, and erect it with our own site team. Within about a hundred miles of the factory we can also take on the complete build, from groundworks to handover, or anything in between.

Structural shell

More than a self-build kit: we design, manufacture, deliver and erect the SIP or timber frame structure, and hand over a weathertight shell for your own team to finish. Available from the Isle of Wight to Scotland.

Complete home

For a small number of projects each year we take on the whole build, from groundworks to handover, with one point of contact throughout. Within about a hundred miles of Butterleigh.

Design and engineering

Our technical team works with your architect to engineer the structure and produce the manufacturing drawings, so what arrives on site fits first time.

See your walls being made before they leave us. It’s the quickest way to understand how we build.

We build self-build homes with six walling systems, all manufactured at Butterleigh. 4Wall and EI SIP hold BDA Agrément certificates issued by Kiwa, and our timber frame comes in open, filled and closed panel form. Choosing the right one for your house is part of the first conversation.

Self-build lenders and warranty providers have consistently accepted our certification. Scope, programme and price are agreed in writing before anything is made.
